    Research by Asst. Prof. Qin Cheng Sheds New Light on China-ASEAN Public Health Governance

    A collaborative paper titled "A systematic review of global and regional estimates of the prevalence of sexual violence against children" by Asst. Prof. Qin Cheng from China-ASEAN School of Economics was officially published in the internationally renowned academic journal Nature Human Behaviour. The study focuses on child-related public health issues at global and regional levels, with Professor Fang Xiangming from China Agricultural University serving as the first author. The research team comprised over 30 scholars from 15 international institutions, including the World Health Organization (WHO), China Agricultural University, Peking University, Guangxi University, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the University of Michigan, and the University of Edinburgh, UK. This study represents one of the key outcomes of the WHO Global Research Project. Upon confirmation by national governments, the findings are expected to serve as an important official data source for the WHO and other United Nations agencies, providing critical evidence for global policy-making.

    Qin Cheng, Ph.D. in Economics, is the Assistant to Dean of China-ASEAN School of Economics and Assistant Professor at the China-ASEAN School of Economics/College of Economics/China-ASEAN School of Financial Cooperation, Guangxi University, specializing in health economics research. In recent years, he has published over 60 papers in SSCI and CSSCI academic journals such as China Agricultural Economic Review, Digital Health, Frontiers in Public Health, China Rural Observation, Agricultural Economic Issues, Resource Science, and Modern Japanese Economy. He has also authored more than 10 signed articles in media outlets including Guangming Daily (Theoretical Edition), Guangming Net Academic Channel, China Population News, China Financial News, Rural Work Communications, and Guangxi Daily (Theoretical Edition). His policy advisory reports have been adopted or endorsed by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, the General Office of the State Council, the Central Rural Work Leading Group Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Guangxi Party Committee and Government.
