    The School of Economics Co-hosted the Academic Symposium "2025 China-Japan Economic and Trade Evaluation and Outlook"

    The "2025 China-Japan Economic and Trade Symposium" was successfully held in Beijing, co-organized by the School of Economics of Guangxi University, the Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (AITEC) of the Ministry of Commerce, the Japan Research Center of Peking University, the Japan Research Center of Fudan University, and the Institute of Japanese Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The event was hosted by the Asia Research Institute of AITEC.

    Scene of Seminar

    At the opening ceremony of the seminar, Professor Li Guanghui, Dean of the School of Economics, delivered a keynote speech, offering a forward-looking analysis of the current status, distinctive features, and future trends in China-Japan economic and trade relations.

    The seminar comprised three thematic sessions. The first session, titled "Analysis and Assessment of Japan's Political and Economic Landscape," was chaired by Professor Li Hanmei from Peking University's School of International Studies. Keynote presentations were delivered by Zhang Yong (Director of the Diplomatic Research Office at the Institute of Japanese Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Wang Guangtao (Deputy Director of Fudan University's Japan Research Center), and Cai Guiquan (Associate Researcher at the Asian Studies Institute, Ministry of Commerce Research Institute). Professor He Ping, Director of Fudan University's Japan Research Center, provided insightful commentary on the presentations.

    The second session, chaired by Professor He Ping, focused on "The Japan-U.S. Trade Agreement and New Trends in Japan's Foreign Economic Cooperation." Keynote speakers included Gui Yongtao, Vice Dean of Peking University's School of International Relations; Tian Zheng, Deputy Director of the Economic Research Office at the Institute of Japanese Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zhang Xueyan, Associate Researcher at the Asian Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce; and Jiang Mingyu, Lecturer at Fudan University's Japan Research Center. The session concluded with a summary and commentary by Associate Researcher Cai Guiquan.

    The third session, titled "Challenges and Responses in China-Japan Economic and Trade Cooperation," was chaired by Professor Masahiro Tada, Deputy Director of the Institute of Japanese Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Keynote speakers included Professor Dou Ding from Peking University's School of International Studies, Deputy Director Qingru Li from the same institute, and Assistant Researcher Xuhai Zhou. Researcher Rui Wang from the Asian Studies Institute of the Ministry of Commerce provided insightful commentary.

    The discussions at each session were thorough and lively. The participating delegates shared the latest research findings and profound insights on relevant topics. At the closing ceremony, Director Yuan Bo of the Asian Research Institute under the Ministry of Commerce delivered a concluding speech, affirming the fruitful research outcomes and the broad consensus reached during the conference.
