On July 7, 2026, the BRI International Student Education Seminar was held at Xi'an Jiaotong University. At the seminar, Associate Professor Wei Sujie of the China-ASEAN School of Economics, Guangxi University presented a keynote speech titled "Cultivating Through Culture, Connecting Through Heart — Educational Practices for ASEAN International Students from a Cross-Cultural Perspective." She systematically introduced Guangxi University's educational philosophy and practical achievements in ASEAN-oriented international student education, centered on the principles of "cultivating through culture" and "connecting through heart." These achievements include the establishment of a Center of Administration and Service for International Students, the development of a "three-in-one" model for national conditions education, the organization of an AI Summer Camp, and the successful completion of the Quality Certification for Higher Education of International Students in China. She also presented two case studies: the China-Thailand 2+2 Degree Program and the China-ASEAN Energy Industry-Education Integration Platform project. Her presentation showcased the distinctive "ASEAN-focused" approach to international student cultivation at Guangxi University and demonstrated notable outcomes in high-quality training and quality certification. The speech, which was substantive and distinctive in content, received broad recognition and attention from peers at the seminar. Experts from Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, South China University of Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xinjiang University, Yunnan University, and other renowned institutions also delivered keynote presentations, engaging in joint discussions on the value of cultural cognition in international student education in China.

Our school's participation and presentation at this seminar served as an important opportunity to showcase our university's "ASEAN characteristics" to peers across the country. The school will continue to advance high-quality international student cultivation, promote industry-education integration and innovation in talent cultivation models, and cultivate more high-caliber, practice-oriented professionals in international economics and trade to serve the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
