To better serve the building of a China-ASEAN community with a shared future and advance high-level educational openness towards ASEAN, the School recently held separate working meetings with Faculty of Accountancy & Management (FAM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia, and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The discussions focused on talent cultivation, research collaboration, and other areas of mutual interest. These engagements mark a new stage in the School’s international cooperation efforts, moving from institution-to-institution partnerships toward a more systematic and integrated cooperation framework. The meetings were chaired by Vice Dean Gong Zheng. Associate Professor Mao Wei from the Department of Finance, Huang Yun, Head of the Teaching Affairs Office, and Chen Yanyang, Officer for International Exchange and Cooperation, also attended.
The meeting with the Faculty of Accountancy & Management of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman focused on translating cooperation into concrete outcomes, particularly through the implementation of jointly developed academic programmes. Both sides identified the promotion of postgraduate joint training programmes as the current priority of cooperation and reached consensus on key implementation arrangements, including curriculum alignment and thesis supervision. They also expressed a shared commitment to establishing stable and efficient channels for bilateral academic exchange.
The meeting with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University centred on enhancing quality and academic leadership through the development of high-level platforms for scholarly and talent exchange. The two sides discussed potential cooperation in areas such as joint research on key China–ASEAN regional development issues, co-development of teaching resources, and the organisation of faculty workshops. They also explored opportunities for short-term postgraduate exchange programmes aimed at strengthening faculty expertise and enhancing the international competitiveness of talent cultivation.

Online working meetings with FAM and RSIS
The two meetings - one grounded in practical outcomes and the other focused on high-level leadership - reflect the School’s systematic approach to ASEAN cooperation, characterized by tailored strategies and precise alignment. The discussions further consolidated efforts to build a multi-level cooperation network encompassing short-term exchanges, collaborative research, faculty development, and dual-degree programmes. These initiatives will continue to further consolidate the brand identity of the China-ASEAN School of Economics and provide strong support for cultivating professionals with international perspectives and a deep understanding of regional dynamics.
Looking ahead, the School will continue to uphold the principles of openness, collaboration, and mutual benefit, deepen practical cooperation with partner institutions across ASEAN, and contribute sustained educational momentum to regional development and people-to-people exchanges
