On the morning of April 17, To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and president of Vietnam, along with his wife, visited the former site of Guangxi Nanning Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone) at Guangxi University. They paid homage to the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, took photos with representatives of Chinese and Vietnamese youth, watched the documentary video titled "Deep Friendship Between Vietnam and China: Comrades and Brothers," delivered speeches, and inscribed dedicatory messages. Liu Haixing, Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, accompanied the delegation during the visit.

In his speech, To Lam stated that Nanning Yucai School is a significant landmark that bears witness to the profound friendship of "comrades and brothers" between the Party and government of Vietnam and China, as well as between the two nations and their peoples. During the Vietnamese people's long struggle for national independence, the Party, government, and people of China, guided by pure proletarian internationalism and deep friendship, helped nurture thousands of Vietnamese young students. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, conditions were extremely challenging; nevertheless, the Chinese authorities prioritized allocating valuable resources to construct school buildings, ensure living conditions and safety, and create an optimal learning environment for Vietnamese students. The touching stories between the faculty and students of Yucai School have become precious and unforgettable historical memories, further enriching the shared and invaluable bond of friendship between the two peoples. He emphasized that the Vietnamese Party, government, and people always remember and cherish the invaluable support and assistance provided by the Chinese Party, government, and people during Vietnam's revolutionary struggle and in the current process of national development. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Party Committee, government, and people of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for their meticulous protection of the former site of Yucai School and other historical sites associated with Chairman Ho Chi Minh within Guangxi, which have become important red landmarks symbolizing the "comrades and brothers" relationship between the two parties and nations.

To Lam also fondly recalled the earnest instructions given by President Ho Chi Minh during his 1957 visit to Yucai School: The younger generation should cherish and be grateful for the assistance from international friends, strive to study diligently and hone their skills, and maintain the virtues of humility and diligence. He revisited the school motto "Unity, Learning, Progress, Service," personally established by President Ho Chi Minh, emphasizing that it represents not only an educational philosophy but also a timeless value pursuit. He expressed hope that Guangxi University and other educational institutions in Guangxi would continue to serve as bridges for knowledge and culture, deepen exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese universities, cultivate more outstanding talents, and provide strong support for the development of both nations. He firmly believed that, built on a solid historical foundation, guided by the correct strategic leadership of the top leaders of both parties and countries, and through the proactive and enthusiastic efforts of the younger generations in both nations, Vietnam-China friendly relations would continue to be upheld and developed, yielding fruitful results and advancing toward greater stability and sustainability.

Li Guozhong, Secretary of the CPC GXU Committee, presided over the speech and extended a warm welcome. He stated that Guangxi University was rebuilt in 1958 on the site of the former Nanning Yucai School, embodying and witnessing the precious bond of "deep friendship between Vietnam and China, where comrades are brothers." The visit by General Secretary To Lam filled the university community with great honor and inspiration. Guangxi University will carry forward the profound camaraderie between China and Vietnam as "comrades and brothers," contributing its wisdom and strength to building a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Following the speech, To Lam inscribed a message wishing for the enduring friendship between China and Vietnam to flourish eternally across generations, and presented a copperplate engraving titled "Guozijian" to the University. In return, Guangxi University gifted him a traditional Chinese painting titled "The Grand Auditorium of Guangxi University."

Participating in the events were members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and responsible officials from relevant Vietnamese departments, He Wei, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam; Chen Zhou, Deputy Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee; Lu Xinning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Vice-Governor of the Autonomous Region People's Government; Zhou Yijue, Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region Political Consultative Conference and Secretary-General of the Autonomous Region Party Committee; along with over 1,100 youth representatives from China and Vietnam.

History shapes the future, and friendship is passed down through generations. Seizing this significant visit as an opportunity, Guangxi University will further deepen comprehensive cooperation with Vietnamese universities in education, science and technology, and humanities, uphold the traditional Sino-Vietnamese friendship, serve as a bridge for youth exchange and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries, and contribute Guangxi's strength to building a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
