    The Seminar on High-Quality Development of Guangxi Economy Was Held Successfully

    From January 10 to 11, 2026, the High-Quality Development Seminar of Guangxi Economy was successfully held at Guangxi University in a hybrid online and offline format. The conference was organized by the Editorial Board of Guangxi Economy and hosted by the China-ASEAN School of Economics of Guangxi University and the China Frontier Economic Research Institute, with the theme "Leading the High-Quality Development of Journals with New Development Concepts". Ning Xuchu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi University and Editor-in-Chief of Guangxi Economy, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The conference was chaired by Li Guanghui, Academic Dean of the School of Economics and Executive Editor-in-Chief of Guangxi Economy.

    Ning Xuchu, on behalf of Guangxi University, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the attending guests. He introduced the historical evolution of Guangxi Economy and its achievements in recent years, earnestly inviting the guests to offer their guidance, diagnose and promote the high-quality development of Guangxi Economy journal, share their insights, and jointly push for the journal to become a distinctive academic journal with significant influence in the fields of regional economy, border development, and ASEAN studies. This will contribute to serving national strategies and the socio-economic development of Guangxi, as well as building a distinctive philosophy and social science discipline system, academic system, and discourse system with Chinese characteristics, making new and greater contributions.

    At the conference, Wang Naihe (Editor-in-Chief of Nankai Economic Studies), Gao Lingyun (Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of World Economy), Xu Xun (Deputy Director of the Economic Research Institute at Management World), Chen Weiguang (Editor-in-Chief of International Economics And Trade Research), Xu Na (Editor-in-Chief of Intertrade), Lyu Yue (Editor-in-Chief of Journal of International Trade), Li Huamin (Editor-in-Chief of Financial Economics Research), Si Lijuan (Executive Editor of Journal of Lanzhou University), and Yang Guang (Editor of Journal Nankai University) shared their journal management expertise. They engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics including journal renaming, brand development, and academic influence enhancement. The participants proposed targeted recommendations for the high-quality development of Guangxi Economy, such as focusing on regional characteristic themes, optimizing key columns, inviting renowned scholars to contribute, and strengthening journal management.

    The conference featured a special symposium titled "Journal Perspectives and Editorial Empowerment: Face-to-Face with Prestigious Journals." Distinguished editors-in-chief and seasoned editors from participating journals shared their publications and delivered insightful presentations on topics such as topic selection and planning. During the interactive session, faculty and students actively engaged in discussions, posing questions and exchanging ideas with journal editors based on their academic research. Participants unanimously praised the symposium as highly informative and enlightening, noting that it provided a systematic and clear understanding of writing and publishing high-quality academic papers.

    "Face to Face with Known Journals" Special Exchange Meeting

    A visit to the Beilun River Second Bridge at Dongxing Port and the Hushi Trade Zone, conducting specialized research on border economy was arranged. Participants conducted field inspections of Guangxi's border trade operations and local residents' cross-border trade activities, gaining in-depth insights into the layout of cross-border industrial chains and the current status of open platforms along the border.

    The successful hosting of this seminar has clarified the development strategy for Guangxi Economic Journal, establishing a clear implementation path of "establishing the journal with distinctive features, strengthening it with quality, and revitalizing it through reform." It has also enhanced communication and collaboration between the journal and the university community, helping faculty and students better master the writing standards and submission strategies for high-level academic papers, thereby improving research productivity and academic influence.

    The meeting was also attended by the leaders from the Party Committee Publicity Department and the Journal Editorial Department, as well as faculty and student representatives from the School of Economics, School of Business Administration, and School of Public Administration.
