Abstract: In view of the inadequacy of the farmer-driven mechanism in China and the lack of obvious benefits for farmers, R County in northern Guangxi has explored the optimization path of the farmer-driven mechanism in characteristic agriculture. Through formulating kumquat market standards and service norms, enhancing product pricing power and market discourse power have optimized the leading enterprise driving mode; through promoting the integrated development of brand and culture, perfecting the brand cultivation system, the brand marketing driving mode has been optimized; through exploring the diversified business mode of “new management main body+ farmers”, the “Internet +” agriculture driving mode has been optimized; through the effective market and the organic combination of the promising government, the dominant industry driving mode and industrial park driving mode have been optimized. The farmer-driven mechanism of R County still has a lot of room for improvement. It is suggested that the local government further improve the farmer-driven mechanism in the digital era, and strengthen the role of new agricultural industry in the farmer-driven mechanism, so as to promote common prosperity and reduce social risks.

Keywords: characteristic agriculture; farmer-driven mechanism; whole-chain industry development system; “Internet +” agriculture
