Abstract: On the basis of evaluating the ability of new quality productive forces to promote the digital transformation of Guangxi’s manufacturing industry, this article proposes countermeasures to enhance the ability of new quality productive forces to promote the digital transformation of Guangxi’s manufacturing industry. Firstly, under the goal of high-quality digital transformation in the manufacturing industry, the ability of new quality productive forces to promote digital transformation in the manufacturing industry is decomposed into high-end driving force, intelligent driving force, green driving force, and integrated driving force for new quality productive forces to promote digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. The mechanism by which new quality productive forces promotes the ability of the manufacturing industry to achieve high-quality digital transformation in terms of high-end, intelligent, green, and integrated aspects is explained. Secondly, taking the high-end driving force, intelligent driving force, green driving force, and integration driving force contained in the new quality productive forces as the primary indicators, a comprehensive evaluation index system for the digital transformation capability of the manufacturing industry promoted by the new quality productive forces is constructed. Thirdly, conduct static and dynamic evaluations on the ability of new quality productive forces to promote the digital transformation of Guangxi’s manufacturing industry. Through research, it has been found that the new quality productive forces has shown insufficient green driving force in promoting the digital transformation of Guangxi’s manufacturing industry. At the same time, there is significant room for improvement in high-tech manufacturing, digital economy industry foundation, intelligent product production, green invention and creation, and foreign trade openness. Finally, based on the evaluation results, measures are proposed to enhance the digital transformation capability of Guangxi’s manufacturing industry by strengthening the foundation of Guangxi’s new quality productive forces, improving the core competitiveness of Guangxi’s new quality productive forces, and providing institutional guarantees for the development of Guangxi’s new quality productive forces. These measures provide reference and inspiration for the development of new quality productive forces in the western region of China according to local conditions.
