    Wu Hao, Wei Liuye, Lao Kepeng, Peng Qing: Research on the Economic Effect and Countermeasures of Southwest Border Economic Cooperation Zone

    Abstract: With the implementation of the Western Development, the Program to Revitalize Border Areas and Enrich Residents’ Lives and the “Belt and Road” initiative, the southwest border area has ushered in rapid development. This study focuses on the Southwest Border Economic Cooperation Zone. Through a detailed analysis of the economic effects of the Southwest Border Economic Cooperation Zone. This article reveals the main constraints affecting the development of the Southwest Border Economic Cooperation Zone. The study found that although the development momentum of the Southwest Border Economic Cooperation Zone goes well, it still faces many challenges, including insufficient infrastructure, lack of cutting-edge talents, unbalanced economic growth momentum, and low industrial structure. Therefore, based on the development status of the southwest frontier region, this paper puts forward relevant targeted countermeasures and suggestions to continuously deepen the opening up of the frontier region and accelerate the high-quality development of the frontier economy.
