To further expand the channels for talent cultivation in ASEAN, enhance scientific research collaboration, and facilitate teacher exchange visits, Dean of Academic Affairs Li Guanghui led a delegation to Cambodia from December 8th to 10th. The visit aimed to increase the visibility of international student recruitment efforts and to elevate the level of internationalization and openness in educational operations. Through these initiatives, the institution seeks to strengthen its academic ties and foster a more globally integrated educational environment.
Counsellor Zhong Jie and First Secretary Wang Peng of The People's Republic of China, the commercial counsellor's embassy in the kingdom of Cambodia warmly welcomed the delegation and provided high praise for the college's distinctive strengths in talent cultivation and scientific research, particularly in its focus on ASEAN-oriented initiatives. They expressed strong support for the college's efforts in advancing education and teaching for international students, conducting scientific research, fostering talent development, and promoting cultural exchanges. Furthermore, they emphasized their hope that the college would continue to play a pivotal role in supporting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and contributing to the broader diplomatic objectives of the country. In particular, they encouraged the college to actively engage in foreign aid training programs and other international cooperation projects. During the visit, the delegation also met with Chen Shufang, an alumna of the 18th class of International Economics and Trade, who is currently working at the Cambodian Economic and Commercial Office. During their visit to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, the delegation was received by Huang Ziyang, the Deputy Prime Minister and Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Dr. Laysovichea, Chief of Research and Policy Analysis in the Department of Policy. The discussions encompassed several key areas of collaboration. In the realm of student exchanges, both parties explored the potential for mutual recognition of credits and part-time study opportunities, aiming to enhance cross-border learning and interaction among students. Regarding research cooperation, there was a consensus that joint applications for research projects would significantly promote scientific and technological innovation and facilitate knowledge sharing. The collaborative research endeavors would not only enable effective resource integration but also deepen academic exchanges and the transformation of research outcomes. Leveraging the strengths of the China-ASEAN School of Economics at Guangxi University in ASEAN economic research, in conjunction with the resources of Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the college is eager to establish partnerships with more Cambodian universities. This initiative aims to cultivate high-level talents equipped to contribute to China-ASEAN development.

At the Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, several key figures engaged in comprehensive discussions with a visiting delegation to explore opportunities for collaboration in talent cultivation and scientific research. The participants included Dr. Oum Ravy, the Vice Rector, Neak Chandarith, the Designated Director of the Institute for International Studies and Public Policy, Phou Sambath, Head Department of International Business Management, and Ham Kakada, Director of the International Relations Office. During these discussions, Dean Li Guanghui emphasized the college's commitment to fostering educational cooperation between Chinese and Cambodian students. He highlighted the Royal University of Phnom Penh as a prominent representative of Cambodian higher education, noting its abundant student resources and strong academic foundation in international business and international relations research. Dean Li expressed the desire for both institutions to engage in comprehensive cooperation, including joint student training, faculty exchange visits, and collaborative scientific research. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of encouraging more outstanding Cambodian students to pursue studies in China. In addition, an invitation was extended to relevant experts from the Royal University of Phnom Penh to participate in the upcoming China-ASEAN International Forum on Economic and Trade Co-operation, which will be hosted by the Academy.

At the Association of Cambodian Students in China (ACSC), its Founder and Chairman Wu Tian, Vice Chairmen Lin Suwen and Xu Baoyi, Special Assistant Huang Ziyang, Senior Advisor Li Xuelin, Advisors Su Yang and He Weiguang, Vice President of the 8th Association of Cambodian Students in China Weng Xinhua, had in-depth exchanges with the delegation on the avenues of co-operation in the field of education and the possibilities of such co-operation. Chairman Wu Tian extended a warm welcome to the delegation, while Vice Chairman Xu provided an overview of the ACSC's activities and objectives. The ACSC expressed a strong commitment to enhancing its connections with Chinese universities. Dean Li Guanghui presented the college's development history, highlighting its role as a pivotal point for higher education exchanges between Guangxi and ASEAN countries. At the Asia Vision Institute (AVI), a renowned think tank in Cambodia, Chheng Kimlong, Director of AVI, Nguonphan Pheakdey, Deputy Director of AVI, Lim Menghour, Director of Mekong Centre for Strategic Studies (MCSS), and Ung Sophealak and Pheng Thean, Research Associate of AVI, held in-depth exchanges with the delegation members to discuss ways and possibilities of cooperation between think tanks. These individuals engaged in comprehensive discussions with delegation members to explore potential avenues for cooperation between think tanks. A central theme of the dialogue was the integration of think tank resources to support policy formulation in the fields of economy, trade, and finance for both countries. Dean Li Guanghui provided an in-depth overview of the Academy's achievements in ASEAN research and think tank development, expressing a desire to enhance collaboration through talent exchanges, joint international conferences, and cooperative research initiatives. The discussions also focused on leveraging the unique strengths of each institution to enrich the depth and breadth of policy research, thereby optimizing the integration of think tank resources between China and Cambodia.

President Lin Shiqiang and Vice President and Secretary General Zhao Jinhui of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia warmly received our delegation. During the visit, Dean Li Guanghui expressed high appreciation for the Chamber's significant role in fostering China-Cambodia economic and trade relations. He acknowledged that the Chamber's efforts have laid a solid foundation for the success of Chinese enterprises in the region. Through these exchanges, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the real needs of enterprises regarding talent cultivation. Both parties explored a new model of talent cultivation that focuses on the specific needs of enterprises. This model aims to cultivate talents with both Chinese thinking and an international vision through joint enrollment programs with local Cambodian universities. Such cooperation is expected to support the development of Chinese enterprises in Cambodia. Furthermore, this initiative will not only promote the development of Cambodian talents but also enhance the competitiveness of Chinese-funded enterprises in the local area. Ultimately, it will inject new momentum into the deepening of China-Cambodia economic and trade relations.

The visit has significantly enhanced the friendly exchanges between the academy and various Cambodian entities, including government departments, colleges and universities, research institutes, think tanks, major business associations, renowned enterprises, and alumni. This interaction has facilitated the establishment of a robust information platform for Sino-Cambodian cooperation in talent cultivation. Consequently, it has provided substantial support for the academy's efforts to accelerate the development of a China-ASEAN regional hub for internationalized talent cultivation, as well as a base for scientific research and think-tank services. Furthermore, the visit has laid a solid foundation for long-term collaboration between our institute and ASEAN countries in areas such as China-ASEAN scientific research cooperation, educational exchange, and think tank development.
